Taken in Joshua Tree National Park, this image captures a moment I never expected to see in the desert. The northern lights lit up the sky in deep shades of red, stretching across the darkness above the Joshua trees. No snow, no mountains, just desert and a sky doing something completely unreal. Seeing the northern lights this far south felt impossible, like the sky broke its own rules for a few minutes. The contrast between the still desert below and the glowing red sky above made the moment feel surreal and unforgettable. This photograph freezes that rare alignment of place, timing, and luck. Perfect for anyone drawn to once-in-a-lifetime moments, rare natural phenomena, and images that make you stop and ask if it’s even real.
